The Beauty of the petals, the stateliness with which it rose from its calyx, the hear-say glory and heritage of the flower- all these kept the bee in tremendous awe of the flower.
The bee dared not to get inside to draw the nectar. The bee was no more moved by its NEED of wanting to slake its appetite by tasting the nectar. It was overawed by the mere thought of HAVING TO enter the beautiful flower and slaking its thirst.
However, just as a homage to its beauty, the bee started hovering over the flower buzzing and fanning the beautiful flower- but never consciously daring to enter. The flower was elated and was tossing its head at the adoration of the bee. The bee returned every morning to pay its obeisance at the altar of the vanity of the flower. The flower with the adoration became vain in its attitude and forgot both its date of expiry, and its necessities.
The other flowers in the vicinity were growing seed in their ovaries and were heard whispering about the murmurings of their wombs and their feelings of elongating their lives thru their progeny. This adored flower heard all those whisperings in the dark nights, but cudn’t feel, much less understand, their whispers.
The day dawned as usual, our hero bee made his buzzing visit and was seen hovering over the flower with no effort to enter nor, betraying any sign of wanting to ever!! The flower started to wilt by the evening and this brought great sorrow to the bee, as it interpreted the flower wilting in the evenings as a sign of its reduced tempo in its adoration.
However the mornings brought cheer to the bee as the flower was fresh.
An old bee, which had seen the purpose of the bee and the flower for many a generation seeing the bee’s unswerving adoration of the flower, took our hero bee aside and said: IDIOT, YOU HAVE WASTED YR TIME LIVING OFF THE HONEY IN THE HIVE, IT IS YOUR DUTY TO COLLECT NECTAR AND THE FLOWER TO GET POLLINATED IN THE PROCESS. BUT U HAVE PAID HOMAGE TO YOUR FEARS IN THE GUISE OF APPRECIATING BEAUTY. POLLINATE HER OR U LEAVE HER BARREN WITH NO SEED OF HERS TO SUSTAIN HER STRAIN.
How could i? Especially when i have been so close, yet never showed any signs of selfishness- said the bee.
THE GOOD OLD BEE SAID ‘ GET TO HER AND RAVISH HER SENSE OF VANITY, WHICH U HAVE BEEN FOSTERING IN HER FOR NO GOOD. THE DEED’S TO BE DONE AND STRENGTH SHALL SUBJUGATE BEAUTY, BUT UNDER THE PROTECTION OF THE STRONG’ .
THE BEE DID IT!
